The teen age or the adolescent period is very crucial in more ways than one. This is the formative age, the age when the several bodily changes take place, the age when sex hormones begin to be released, the age when your body needs utmost care. It is interesting to note that it is during the teen ages that people become more interested in fitness training. Much of it has to do with the social influence, but it boils down to the fact that teen age workouts are popular and rightly so.

If you are a teenager, it is likely that you are highly energetic and enthusiastic when it comes to working out at the gym. The equipment intrigues you, the atmosphere attracts you and the prospective results tempt you. But did you know that you can do very well without the gym? There are certain exercises that you can do on your own, or under a personal trainer. More than the appearance, it's your health that you need to be concerned about. Following are some exercises that can be of immense help to you:

Jumping Jacks: This is great way to relax or loosen your muscles. It is wise to do this exercise before you start any other as this increases body flexibility, heart beat rate and results in a quicker blood circulation.

Push Ups: These are very effective and you don't need elaborate equipment either. There are several kinds of push ups. Normally these contribute to the strengthening of your hand muscles, i.e. the biceps and the triceps. An easy way is to push up on your hand while you are lying flat on your stomach. Keep your legs stretched out and try to lift your body solely on your hands. Repeat the movement at least ten times when you start off. Once you get the hang of it, you can increase the number. Set your goal at fifty everyday and sooner than later you will get visible results.

Pull Ups: This is another exercise that can be extremely beneficial. Pull ups can further contribute to muscle strength and ca be more effective than weight lifting, or lifting dumbbells. You can make use of a metal bar, or anything that has the capacity to hold your body weight. Hold the bar with both your hands and pull yourself up till your chin goes higher than the height of the same. Initially you can be satisfied with three sets of five each. Later you can increase the count gradually.

Sit Ups: A full sit up is very effective if you want to flaunt six pack abs. I will get progressively difficult to do a full sit up as you grow older. So teen age is the time to start.

Running: This completes your workout routine. A 30 minute run is absolutely essential if you want to benefit from your workout. This makes you healthy and more energetic.

Working out in the teens is very simple and easy, mainly because this age is characterized by energy and vigor. If you can register with a fitness training school or hire a personal trainer, your workout will be more focused and hence more effective. So, start without any further delay and stay healthy!
